Designed for direct mounting near a battery or protected load, the EGIS 70A 87 Series Surface-Mount Circuit Breaker combines automatic circuit protection with a manual disconnect. The format is useful where the installer needs high-current protection but does not want to dedicate space to a through-panel breaker.
System voltage can range from 12V through 48VDC. Environmental sealing protects the breaker mechanism from dust and water, while ignition protection addresses enclosed-space installations. The design is built around the newer ABYC E-11 interrupt requirements so the breaker can be used where the available short-circuit current from a battery bank is high.
Connection hardware is stainless steel, and self-locking terminal nuts are used to help maintain clamping force in vibrating equipment. Reinforced mounting features support a secure installation near the circuit being protected while leaving the breaker easy to reach for manual operation.
