The Fox Edge The Claw has a 2.5-inch black stonewashed 8Cr13MoV stainless tanto blade, a black G10 handle with a finger ring, an extended tang, an Emerson-style opener and a pocket clip, closing to 5 inches.
The Emerson opener is a hook on the blade spine that catches the pocket edge as the knife is drawn, opening it on the way out. Combined with the finger ring it means the knife arrives in the hand already open and secured. The finger ring itself stops the knife being pulled or twisted out of the grip, which is the karambit logic applied to a tanto blade.
At 5 inches closed with only a 2.5-inch blade, most of the length is handle, which is what the finger ring needs to work. 8Cr13MoV sharpens back quickly on any stone and forgives neglect. Explore more Tactical Linerlocks.
