The Magpul DAKA Utility Organizer Large in black is a semi-rigid, book-style organizer that measures about 10.6 by 8.0 by 2.3 inches. It is made from DAKA polymer-infused fabric with RF-welded seams, and the semi-rigid shell protects what is inside. A water-resistant YKK AquaGuard zipper with an oversized pull runs around the edge. The semi-rigid body keeps the panels from folding in on what is inside.
The left panel has a 9 by 6.5 inch back pocket, a 3.5 by 6 inch mesh pocket, four 1.5-inch stretch MOLLE loops, and two stretch pockets. The right panel has a 9 by 6.5 inch back pocket sized for a notepad, a 3.25 by 6 inch zippered mesh pocket, four more stretch MOLLE loops, and two stretch pockets. In total, there are eight stretch MOLLE loops and four 4 by 3 inch admin pockets. Stretch MOLLE loops hold items like pens, a light, or a knife firmly without extra straps.
That layout works well for pens, a notebook, a multitool, a flashlight, and small electronics. A carabiner pass-through on the zipper pull lets you clip it to a pack or bag. The outside has a paint-pen dot matrix for labeling. Black keeps a low profile for travel and work. It slides into a laptop sleeve or the back of a pack, where its flat shape takes little room.
