Performance Metals makes its Navalloy aluminum anodes to military specification MIL-DTL-24779, and they work in salt, brackish and fresh water. Each one has Performance Metals’ patented red spot wear indicator, which shows at a glance when it’s time for a replacement. Aluminum anodes protect in salt, brackish and fresh water, and they deliver more protection per pound than zinc.
It includes 00156A (Volvo 3841427) and 00157A (Volvo 3883827) with mounting hardware and instructions. Replace anodes when they’re about half consumed, and never paint them, because paint stops them from working.
