The Sea-Dog 400079 is a pair of stamped 304 stainless surface-mount navigation lights, USCG 2NM approved.
Buying the pair covers port and starboard in one purchase rather than ordering two separate parts and risking a mismatch. Sidelights have to match each other in rating and appearance, and ordering them separately is how a boat ends up with two different vintages of the same fixture.
Stamped 304 stainless resists the saltwater exposure a bow-mounted light gets continuously. Sidelights sit where spray lands first and stays longest, and a fixture that pits or corrodes there looks poor long before it stops working.
They surface-mount vertically with two 8 flathead fasteners each. Vertical mounting suits a hull side or a bow pulpit stanchion rather than a horizontal deck surface, so the mounting position should be checked before ordering. Explore more navigation lights.
