The Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 Rescue FRN Lockback Knife, part of the brand’s budget-friendly import line, sets a satin-finished 3.75-inch serrated 8Cr13MoV blade with a thumb pull opener, set in an orange textured FRN handle with a lanyard hole and pocket clip, closing to 4.88 inches.
That vivid orange FRN handle is a deliberate rescue-oriented design choice, high-visibility color that makes the knife easy to spot in an emergency bag, glove box, or gear pile where a standard black handle could get lost. The full serrated edge bites through rope, webbing, seatbelts, and other tough material a plain edge handles less cleanly, exactly the kind of cutting a rescue tool is based on. At a full 3.75 inches, this is a substantial blade for dependable emergency cutting tasks.
A lockback secures the blade open with a spine-mounted release, one of the most trusted traditional locking mechanisms available for its strength. Byrd brings Spyderco’s design sensibility to an accessible price point. Explore more Lockback Knives.
