The Streamlight PolyTac 1X USB is a multi-fuel flashlight in matte black giving 500 lumens and 18,000 candela, with an SL-B9 rechargeable battery pack.
Multi-fuel means it runs the supplied SL-B9 rechargeable pack, a CR123A primary, or a CR123 rechargeable, so the light works on whatever is available. That is the single most useful feature on a light kept for emergencies, since the failure mode of a rechargeable-only light is being flat when it is needed.
Eighteen thousand candela alongside 500 lumens tells you the beam is fairly tight, throwing usefully rather than only flooding close range. A polymer body is non-conductive and lighter than aluminum, and the matte finish does not catch light the way a polished body would. Explore more handheld flashlights.
