Standard equipment in some of the world’s top sport kites and older Prism models, Sky Shark tapered tubes allow extra stiffness in stressed areas of the frame while minimizing weight in the spreader ends and wingtips.
Compared to Dynamic tapered tubes, Sky Shark tubes are slightly more flexible for their weight due to a steeper taper, giving kites a slightly whippier, more forgiving feel.
Tapered tubes have different inner and outer diameters at each end. Consult the chart below for the measurements that correspond to each model number. When cutting is required, these tubes are typically trimmed from the smaller end.
