The Walther ceramic sharpener keeps an existing edge sharp with crossed ceramic rods. The rods are set in a fixed V, so the angle is the same every time. That makes it easy for anyone to get consistent results.
Ceramic removes very little steel, so it realigns and refines an edge rather than reshaping it. A few pulls before each use keep a knife cutting cleanly. Used regularly, it means your knife rarely needs a stone.
It stores easily in a kitchen drawer. Use light pressure and draw the blade from heel to tip. Clean the rods with soap and water when they turn gray. Compare it with the rest of our sharpeners.
